Innocenzo Odescalchi. Before geographers. Installation and painting
The exhibition stems from the artist's desire to represent an ideal journey within the dynamics of art making.
Starting from the discovery of another parallel world, which intersects to everyday reality, Odescalchi's most recent works are centred around the theme of travel, research, overcoming difficulties, the matter that surrounds us and its discovery, and finally the occurrence of a new riddle, thus of a new potential journey.
The style is essentially abstract and informal: Innocenzo Odescalchi's paintings are combined with large objects made of wood, steel and canvas and imbued with the same colours of the paintings.
