Back to Nature 2021. Arte contemporanea a Villa Borghese
Following the success in autumn 2020, this exhibition project, which explores the future of the world and the need to build a new relationship with nature, returns with new works.
A series of installations designed to be exhibited outdoors and appreciated by all those who visit the park, specially designed for the occasion by internationally renowned artists such as Loris Cecchini, Leandro Erlich, Giuseppe Gallo, Marzia Migliora, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Pietro Ruffo, Tomás Saraceno, Marinella Senatore and the Accademia di Aracne group.
The works dialogue with the park, with its plants, ponds and paths, linked by an evocative upward movement, produced by their lightness, transparency and the movement of their forms. Walking through the park allows visitors to experience the correspondence between the contemporary sign, the architecture of the park and the plants that inhabit it in a completely new and innovative way.
The exhibition mainly involves the Parco dei Daini and the Piazza di Siena area with an itinerary of works that invite visitors to rediscover the garden spaces in a contemporary key.
The works at the Parco dei Daini are illuminated by ACEA SpA every evening until 22.30.
The event is designed as a festival in which musical performances and artistic interventions aimed at involving the public will take place around the large artistic installations in the greenery, in a harmonious dialogue with nature. Visitors to the exhibition will be able to interact with the works created by the artists and become protagonists through interaction with some of the works.
Back to Nature 2021 also includes the Museo Carlo Bilotti - Aranciera di Villa Borghese, which reopens to the public for the occasion with the exhibition Arte e Natura. Works from the Capitoline Collections of Contemporary Art, curated by Antonia Arconti, Ileana Pansino and Daniela Vasta. The exhibition offers a selection that spans a wide span of time from the early decades of the 20th century to the present day.
The theme of the relationship between art and nature is tackled in the exhibition by juxtaposing works that establish a dialogue through formal and thematic, rather than temporal, cross-references, with the intention of providing a further opportunity to highlight and raise awareness of paintings, photographs, videos, sculptures and above all installations that do not have a permanent museum exhibition space but are chosen on a rotating basis. The selected works all come from the Capitoline collections, including loans from UniCredit S.p.A, regulated by a long-term loan agreement.
The selection of contemporary artists - among others Gianfranco Baruchello, Claudio Palmieri, Giancarlo Limoni, Marilù Eustachio, Giosetta Fioroni, Alfredo Jaar, Oscar Turco, Daniela Perego, Felice Levini, Marina Ballo Charmet, Olivo Barbieri, Lorenzo Durantini, Guendalina Salini, Giulia Napoleone, Alberto Vannetti - allows us to analyse a series of different visions on the proposed theme, using different techniques and media.
Admission is free.
For visits to the Museo Carlo Bilotti - Aranciera di Villa Borghese free admission tickets can be obtained by calling 060608 within half an hour from the time of the visit, or by going directly to the museum (in compliance with the spacing and anti-coveting regulations in force) within the limits of the capacity of the exhibition halls and the individual time slots.
