Afro. From the sketch to artwork. 1951-1975
On the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Afro, the exhibition illustrates his artistic career.
On display a selection of 35 major works, the exhibition illustrates the different stages of Afro's artistic process: the transition from the preparatory sketch to more complex and articulated projects, to the final version of the painting.
The idea of the exhibition is to analyze the creative progress of the artist, his work "method", showing how even abstract painting is based on complex and thoughtful elaborative processes. Landscapes, still lifes and figures become for Afro, in a sophisticated and creative journey, mental forms and pure abstraction.
